of Public Health in Al-Jamil City, Affiliated with Sabratha University
The College
of Public Health in Al-Jamil City, affiliated with Sabratha University, was
established in 2005. It is unique in its offerings and academic structure,
providing specialized education and training in various fields of public
health. The college is committed to excellence in education, research, and
community service, striving to contribute significantly to the health sector in
Libya.
Departments and Their Establishment
The college
comprises six departments, each dedicated to different aspects of public
health:
- Department of Health Administration and Hospitals
(Established in 2005)
- Department of Nutritional Health (Established in 2005)
- Department of Environmental Health (Established in
2005)
- Department of Health Inspection and Control
(Established in 2017)
- Department of Family Health (Established in 2017)
- Department of Laboratory and Medical Analysis
(Established in 2018)

Despite its
relatively recent establishment, the college has earned recognition as a
leading academic institution in the field of public health on both local and
regional levels. The college offers comprehensive undergraduate programs,

Key Achievements and Initiatives
In March
2021, the College of Public Health organized its first scientific conference
titled "Health, Nutrition, and Environmental Issues in the Libyan Society:
Between Reality and Aspirations." This conference aimed to address
critical public health challenges in Libya, fostering dialogue and
collaboration among experts, researchers, and practitioners.
